Rekawa Wellness Resort exists because of a question we kept hearing for years: could visiting yoga teachers and facilitators bring their own groups to run retreats in this part of Sri Lanka? Rekawa is our answer – a dedicated venue for teachers, facilitators and wellness practitioners who want to run their own retreats or trainings in a setting built specifically for that purpose.

A Space Built for Group Work
Rekawa offers clean, eco-conscious accommodation with air conditioning and a deliberately minimalist feel that encourages rest rather than distraction. Rooms can be configured for shared or private stays depending on your group’s needs, with daily housekeeping handled quietly and without disrupting the retreat rhythm.
The Spaces You’ll Use
The Yoga Sala sits at the heart of the property – an open-air, naturally ventilated space large enough for group practice, with a smooth floor suited to both dynamic and restorative sessions. A separate Ceremonial Space is designed for breathwork, group meditation and circle-format work, with a layout intended to create a sense of safety for more vulnerable sessions.
Our restaurant serves Ayurvedic-inspired, largely vegetarian Sri Lankan cuisine using local produce wherever possible, with menus that can be adapted to your group’s dietary needs. For longer trainings, a coworking space with reliable Wi-Fi supports lesson planning and admin work away from the practice spaces themselves. An infinity pool and easy access to Rekawa Beach – a protected sea-turtle nesting site – round out the property.
Logistics We Handle
- Airport transfers from Bandaranaike International (roughly three hours to Tangalle)
- Cultural excursions – temple visits, wildlife safaris, cooking classes – arranged on request
- On-the-ground support for accommodation, meals and day-to-day logistics, so you can focus on teaching

Why Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka remains genuinely less discovered by the international wellness travel market than better-known destinations elsewhere in Asia, while still offering the visa accessibility, English proficiency and flight connectivity that make group logistics straightforward. For teachers looking for a setting that still feels authentic rather than replicated, that’s a real point of difference.
